Recycling China

These “tableware” pieces were inspired by garbage collected in the streets of Jingdezhen. Used bowls, cups and cartons accumulate everywhere, a reflection of eating habits in China and of ephemeral relationships with objects. Street food is omnipresent and seems to generate quantities of detritus that both fascinated and disgusted me. The Chinese porcelain garbage series transforms these perishable remains of mealtimes into a more permanent reminder of common practices that have become a feature of urban space.
